I love Batali products. I have his Piastra (which is fantastic) and several other Batali utensils. Unfortunately, the PIzza Stone is flawed. It is wonderful to cook on and the pizza is done perfectly, but the stone cracks after a few uses. That is, if you can actually receive one in the mail that isn't already cracked or broken. The people at the distributor are very good and continue to send out replacements. I am currently on my 6th pizza stone. 4 have arrived broken in the box and the other two cracked after limited use. Hopefully they will come up with better packaging for shipping and a treatment for the stone itself which will prevent cracking.

For $99 I expect a little more longevity in a pizza stone. I make pizza weekly and of two pizza stones I received, neither lasted longer than 4-5 uses. The second one was never used on the grill, only the oven. I never brought it from hot to cold (or cold to hot), dropped it, or anything else I would expect that might cause it to crack. It's really disappointing because I love the pizza when it's cooked on the stone. It comes out perfect every time. I guess I'll be looking for another stone to fit in the holder.

The first one arrived with a broken stone, but they immediately shipped another one, and told me I didn't even have to return the broken one. The second one got here in two days, and is wonderful! It makes a very crispy crust and the cast iron frame makes it very superior to any other pizza stone I have had (I've gone through 5 of them!) because it is so easy to lift in and out of the oven.

This item arrived with a broken stone. I returned it and got another one with a broken stone so I gave up. Amazon seemed unwilling/unable to ship it adquately packaged to prevent the stone from being broken despite my indicating it needed to be packaged better.

We have had this pizza stone for about 2 months now and have used it 3 times, all on the grill. It is wonderful. We are having so much fun making the dough, pizza sauce, and finally the pizza itself. It is great for having friends over and the kids love being able to make their own pizza.
<br />I have read about another user that has some breakage issues, and if it happens to use you can expect a new or revised comment/review.
